Dear AFORE 2023 participants,
As the President of the Korean Society for New and Renewable Energy (KSNRE), I am honored to extend a warm welcome to all of you at the 12th Asia-Pacific Forum on Renewable Energy (AFORE 2023). It gives me immense pleasure to host this prestigious conference at RAMADA PLAZA JEJU, Republic of Korea, from 7th to 11th November 2023.
Our goal for AFORE 2023 is to create an exceptional academic conference that focuses on the crucial theme of renewable energy as the key to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. Carbon neutrality has emerged as the new international order, and the role of sustainable green technologies and industries has never been more critical.
In today’s corporate landscape, Environment-Social-Governance management and the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism are evolving into essential management obligations. Furthermore, the rapidly expanding global renewable energy market presents new opportunities and emphasizes the urgency of academic and technological advancements in the field of renewable energy.
As we navigate this epochal transition to carbon neutrality, the significance of renewable energy cannot be overstated. It is the experts from academia, industry, and government who will lead the charge in driving the energy transition forward.
Located on the picturesque island of Jeju in Korea, AFORE 2023 is thoughtfully designed to address the pathways to carbon neutrality, taking into account the post-COVID perspective. We understand that tackling this complex challenge requires international collaboration and cooperation. To facilitate meaningful discussions and forge impactful connections, we have arranged for engagement with esteemed international organizations like the IEA, IRENA, and GGGI.
AFORE 2023 stands as a representation of the Asia-Pacific community’s commitment to renewable energy. It is with great enthusiasm that I invite and encourage your active participation in this conference. Together, we can collectively shape the future of renewable energy and drive our world closer to a sustainable and carbon-neutral future.
Thank you, and I am looking forward to sharing a memorable and productive conference with all of you.
Chang-Keun Yi, Ph.D.
