Dear AFORE 2024 participants,
As the President of the Korean Society for New and Renewable Energy (KSNRE), I am honored to extend a warm welcome to all of you at the 13th Asia-Pacific Forum on Renewable Energy (AFORE 2024). It is my great pleasure to host this prestigious conference at RAMADA PLAZA JEJU, Republic of Korea, from the 5th to 9th day in November 2024. As this year marks the 20th anniversary of KSNRE, this AFORE 2024 is even more meaningful.
Our goal for AFORE 2024 is to create an exceptional conference that focuses on the crucial theme of “Integration of renewable energy for carbon neutrality”. Carbon neutrality has emerged as the new international order, and the role of sustainable green technologies and industries has never been more critical.
It is now called the period of Energy Transition or the Green Revolution. According to a recent Bloomberg NEF analysis in May 2024, the investment in clean energy or energy transition international market from 2004 to 2023 for the last 20 years has increased 50 times. The energy markets such as solar, wind power, power grids, electrification, hydrogen, CCUS and energy storage which are main focusing areas of KSNRE, have been increased drastically
As we navigate this epochal transition to carbon neutrality, the significance of renewable energy cannot be overstated. It is the experts from academia, industry, and government who will lead the charge in driving the energy transition forward.
Located on the beautiful island of Jeju in Korea, AFORE 2024 is thoughtfully designed to address the pathways to carbon neutrality. We understand that tackling this complex challenge requires international collaboration and cooperation. To facilitate meaningful discussions and forge impactful connections, we have arranged for engagement with esteemed experts and scholars form international organizations and schools.
AFORE 2024 stands as a representation of the Asia-Pacific community’s commitment to renewable energy. It is with great enthusiasm that I invite and encourage your active participation in this conference. Together, we can collectively shape the future of renewable energy and drive our world closer to a sustainable and carbon-neutral future.
Thank you, and I am looking forward to sharing a memorable and productive conference with all of you.
2024. 11. 5.
