Dear AFORE 2025 Participants,
It is my distinct honor, as President of the Korean Society for New and Renewable Energy (KSNRE), to warmly welcome you to the 14th Asia-Pacific Forum on Renewable Energy (AFORE 2025), taking place on the beautiful island of Jeju, Republic of Korea, from November 4th to 8th, 2025. Hosting this esteemed international gathering in such a remarkable setting is both a privilege and a pleasure.
AFORE 2025 is dedicated to fostering an outstanding academic and professional platform under the pivotal theme of “Empowering Sustainable Innovation via Intelligent Energy”. As carbon neutrality becomes a defining global imperative, the importance of sustainable green technologies and industries continues to grow exponentially. We are witnessing an unprecedented era of energy transformation and green innovation. Over the past two decades, global investments in clean energy and energy transition have surged fiftyfold, driving remarkable progress in solar and wind power, power grids, electrification, hydrogen, CCUS, and energy storage—areas at the very heart of KSNRE’s mission.
In today’s rapidly evolving landscape, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices and the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) have become essential pillars of corporate responsibility. The dynamic growth of the global renewable energy market brings both new opportunities and urgent challenges, underscoring the need for continued academic and technological advancement. It is the collective expertise of leaders from academia, industry, and government that will propel the energy transition forward.
Addressing these complex challenges demands robust international collaboration. To this end, AFORE 2025 will facilitate meaningful exchanges and partnerships with distinguished experts and leading organizations such as the KEA, NREL, Wood Mackenzie and Renewable Energy Institute. The conference will encompass a comprehensive range of topics, including solar, wind, bio, thermal, and ocean energy, as well as advancements in materials, fabrication processes, modules, systems, and energy-related policies—spanning RPS, REC, RE100, carbon neutrality, net zero, and the Green New Deal.
We are confident that AFORE 2025 will fulfill your diverse expectations and needs. The global pursuit of green growth and a low-carbon society has ushered in a new era for renewable energy technology, marked by significant investment and technical breakthroughs. This open forum will serve as a catalyst for sharing innovative ideas and accelerating progress in renewable energy research and development. For those interested in publishing their work, we invite you to submit manuscripts to SCIE-listed journals, following our recommended guidelines and peer review processes.
AFORE 2025 stands as a testament to the Asia-Pacific community’s unwavering commitment to renewable energy. I wholeheartedly invite you to participate actively in this conference. Together, we can shape the future of renewable energy and move our world closer to a sustainable, carbon-neutral future.
Thank you, and I look forward to a memorable and productive conference with each of you.
With warm regards,
2025. 11. 4.
Chul Hee Jo, Ph.D.
